Belgium

BRUGSE ZOT BLONDE

BLONDE ALE

BREWERY: De Halve Maan, Bruges, Belgium

BEER NOTES: Named Brugse Zot or ‘Bruges Fool’, a historic nickname given to the town folk of Bruges, this golden beer should not however be taken lightly. Brugse Zot gains its central sweet structure from four different malts. Two aromatic hop varieties give the beer a big, hoppy aroma and a very satisfactory dry finish.

DELIRIUM

STRONG GOLDEN ALE

BREWERY: Huyghe, Melle, Belgium

BEER NOTES: Launched in 1989, Delirium aka ’the Pink Elephant’ was elected best beer in the world in Stuart Kallen’s 50 Best Beers Of The World. Bright golden beer with a dense white head, a sweetish palate, and lots of warming alcohol . Hops are Czech Saaz and Slovakian Styrians and it’s fermented with three different yeasts.

LINDEMANS KRIEK

LAMBIC CHERRY BEER

BREWERY: Lindemans, Vlezenbeek, Belgium

BEER NOTES: The Lindemans family have been producing the speciality Belgian beer – lambic, which relies on spontaneous fermentation by wild yeasts carried into the brewhouse on the breeze. Lindemans kriek is an exceptional lambic cherry beer with an upfront full fruit sweetness balancedby a refreshing tart sour finish.

CIDER

CIDERY: Sheppy’s, Taunton, Somerset

BEER NOTES: Oakwood is crafted from a blend of highest quality vintage cider apples, producing a rewarding and highly refreshing West Country cider. Serve chilled, with or without ice.

HAPPY VALLEY BREWERY

BREWERY: Bollington, Cheshire

INFORMATION:

David and Nicola Hughes would like to introduce you to Happy Valley Brewery, a family business established in 2010 in the heart of Bollington, Cheshire.

David, a brewer of over 20 years brewing experience, has installed a purpose built, modern Microbrewery. This efficient system will produce a range of Traditional Real Ales using our own unique Lancashire milltown brewery yeast, to tried and tested recipes.

Happy Valley Brewery uses the finest, freshest ingredients always locally sourced where possible. Our first ale was Sworn Secret (Gold Best Overall Beer – Stockport Beer Festival 2011), closely followed by Lazy Daze, Black Magic (Silver – Champion Beer of Cheshire 2011) and recently Black Out XO Rum Porter, Champion Beer of Cheshire 2013.

Our other Real Ales include Little Rascal, Tie The Knot, Bollywood IPA, Five Rings, Dangerously Dark and our newest Small & Mighty!


USA

BREWERY: Redhook, Woodinville, Washington State, USA
BEER NOTES: The generous addition of hops both during and at the end of the fermentation process (dry-hopping) gives our India Pale Ale its characteristic bitterness and piney citrus aroma and flavour. The medium body, crisp finish, and moderate alcohol and IBU levels makes this one of America’s most drinkable and best-selling IPAs.

Germany

PAULANER MUNICH HELL

ORIGINAL MUNICH HELL LAGER

BREWERY: Paulaner, Munich, Bavaria

BEER NOTES: With a history of brewing in Munich dating back some 375 years, Paulaner can rightly claim to be a Bavarian institution. Original Munich Hell is a golden blonde lager with a full malty body balanced by an elegant, subtle hoppy finish. The drink of choice in the biergartens of this great city, this classic Helles lager is Bavaria’s most popular beer.

HOPF

HELLE WEISSE BIER

BREWERY: Hopf, Miesbach, Bavaria

BEER NOTES: Brewed at the highly respected Hopf craft weisse bier brewery in the picturesque town of Miesbach, in Hopf Helle Weisse we truly think we’ve discovered a little gem! With a lighter body than the classic Hefe Weisses, but with the same morish taste, this beer is just so drinkable. Anyone who likes Bavarian wheat beer or Belgian wit bier should really appreciate Hopf.

PAULANER MUNICH DUNKEL LAGER

DARK BAVARIAN LAGER

BREWERY: Paulaner, Munich, Bavaria

BEER NOTES: Great example of the original lager style, which pre-dates light coloured pilsners and helles by several centuries. Paulaner Munich Dunkel pours a deep mahogany brown with a creamy tan head. A sweet malt aroma leads on to a toasted bready body which is beautifully balanced by caramel and chocolate notes. A rewarding dry finish completes this fine dark beer.

Scotland

SCHIEHALLION

Craft Lager

BREWERY: Harviestoun, Alba, Scotland

BEER NOTES: Schiehallion is named after a mountain in Perthshire, known in Gaelic as the ‘Fairy Hill of the Caledonians’. This stunning lager has an elegant head, luscious lacing, aromas and flavours of fresh-cut grass, brown sugar, lychee and green mango. A crisp palate precedes a fresh, grapefruity finish. Judged World’s Best Pilsner, World Beer Awards 2008 and Gold Medallist, International Beer Challenge 2009.

OLD ENGINE OIL

Porter

BREWERY: Harviestoun, Alba, Scotland

BEER NOTES: Old Engine Oil is understandably a firm favourite among porter drinkers. This remarkably smooth, creamy brew offers up flavours of coffee, dark chocolate and earthy hops. Rich fruit lingers within the residual sweetness, pleasingly accompanying the roasty, toasty notes. Awarded Gold at the 2010 International Beer Challenge and voted Europe’s Best Porter at the 2010 World Beer Awards.
